What we keep
- Visitors without an account: nothing beyond our web server's standard access logs (IP address, time, page), kept for security. How long the server keeps them has not been confirmed for this site yet; this draft will state the period once it has.
- Account holders: your email address, a hashed password, the time of your last sign-in, and what you enter: the names of your things, meter readings, tasks, and records (dates, costs, who did the work, notes). Kept until you delete them or your account.
- Calendar feed (Plus): only a one-way hash of your private calendar address and the time a calendar app last fetched it.
- If you pay: the PayPal subscription id, plan, status and paid-through date, and PayPal's payment notifications with personal details removed. We never see or store card details.
Who sees what
Your records are shown only to you. Anyone who has your private calendar address can see your upcoming due dates (thing and task names, due dates); turn the feed off or make a new address on your account page if it is ever shared by mistake. We do not sell or share data, and the site has no ads, analytics or third-party scripts. PayPal processes payments under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
A session cookie (only once you sign in), a security cookie that protects forms, and your theme choice in your own browser. No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
We email you only for confirming your address, password resets and Plus changes. No newsletters and no reminder emails.
Deleting
"Delete my account" removes your account and every thing, task and record in it at once. If a Plus subscription is running it is cancelled with PayPal first; if PayPal does not confirm, the account is not deleted and you are told. Payment records needed for bookkeeping are kept with your email address replaced by a one-way hash. We do not delete accounts for being inactive. Deleted data stays in our backups until those copies are removed: nightly database copies on the server are kept for 14 days; copies made each time the site is updated are kept until newer ones replace them; and some copies are kept on WeldonPC's own backup systems with no fixed end date. Backups are used only to repair the site after a failure, are not shared or sold, and a deleted account is not put back from a backup unless you ask.
Children
Accounts are for people aged 13 or over.
