How it works
- Add a thing. Your house, a car, a boat, a mower, a generator. If it has an odometer or an hour meter, say so and give today's reading.
- Pick its tasks. Choose from the built-in list or write your own: "every 3 months", "every 5,000 miles", or both (whichever comes first). If you know when you last did it, enter the date and the next due date is worked out from there.
- Log what you do. Press "Done" on a task, or log a one-off job (a repair, an inspection). Add the cost, the meter reading, who did it and a note if you like.
- See what is next. Your bottle lists everything overdue first, then what is due in the next two weeks (or within 10% of its mileage or hours), then the rest.
- Let your calendar remind you (Plus). Add your private calendar address to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook once. Due dates appear there. The feed asks for a reminder the day before, but each calendar app decides: Apple Calendar can show it (on a Mac, untick "Remove alerts" when you subscribe), while Google Calendar ignores reminders in subscribed calendars, so there you see the date without an alert. Calendar apps also refresh subscribed calendars on their own schedule, from a few hours to a day or more (Google Calendar is often the slowest), so a task you just logged can take that long to move.
What Service Bottle does not do
- It does not send email reminders, texts or push notifications. Reminders come through your own calendar (Plus) or by opening the site.
- It does not book or sell services and has no business listings, ads or affiliate links.
- It does not know your make or model. Intervals are typical starting points; your manual comes first.
Free for one thing and eight tasks. Plus is $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year. Free during preview. Pricing
